Use Case: Automation in Supplier Management for an Energy Supplier
For a leading energy corporation, we thoroughly analyzed the internal processes in supplier management and systematically digitized them. The process began with a detailed process assessment, followed by an effort estimation for the implementation of automation. The requirements were documented in the form of process documentation (PDD) and BPMN models.
Based on this, we worked together with the internal development team to create an RPA solution, where reusable objects were created, and the existing Blue Prism template was specifically tailored to the needs of the energy company. In daily exchanges and during special challenging sessions with the lead developers, quality standards were ensured and synergies for further automation projects were created.
For browser automation, a Selenium adapter was used to optimally control processes in SAP and the PowerCloud web application. After extensive testing phases and joint acceptance tests, the bots were deployed live and closely monitored during the subsequent hypercare phase. All documentation was transparently and comprehensively conducted in Confluence and Jira.
The Result: Recurring tasks in supplier management could be automated, process quality was improved, and resources were used more efficiently – providing sustainable benefits for the entire energy corporation.
