Use Case: End-to-End Process Automation and Digitization in Logistics
For a logistics company, we implemented a comprehensive automation project that systematically identified and documented both functional and non-functional requirements. After a detailed analysis of the processes and requirements, the workflows were modeled end-to-end in BPMN 2.0. Existing documentation was updated, and the documentation concept was further developed.
In the solution-finding phase, Design Thinking methods were used to collaboratively develop innovative and practical approaches with the relevant departments. For the technical realization, an effort estimation was made before the process automations were implemented with modern tools like UiPath (including SAP integration and REST API connection).
A central example is the automated reading of repair slips and the subsequent automatic material reordering. By digitizing these processes, processing times were noticeably reduced, and error rates were minimized.
The entire technical development was accompanied by intensive testing, with errors from the test phases being promptly addressed. The technical implementation, as well as all test and project documentation, were centrally managed through Jira and Confluence. During the go-live phase and the system relaunch, we supported the project team closely, worked agilely within the Scrum team, and actively participated in all Scrum ceremonies.
Finally, a new dashboard for logistics was implemented, enabling transparent control and evaluation of the processes. This not only increased efficiency but also ensured sustainable knowledge transfer within the company.
